World Wetlands Day Thank You

A Big Thank You! to everyone that participated in the Toronto Zoo’s World Wetlands Day! The cold didn’t keep people from venturing outside and around the zoo, especially when there are so many warm pavilions to visit. In the Americas Pavilion we had over 100 visitors, including 60 kids ranging from 2 to 10, stopping by our wetland actives. It was a great day to learn about where wetland animals go during the winter months. Did you know fish and some tadpoles stay active all winter long, swimming under the ice. Whereas frogs and turtles bury in the mud for a long winter nap!
Our next big event is March Break, a full day of activities for kids and families. Keep your ears open for a very special Ontario Milksnake and Blanding’s turtle event. More details coming soon.
